  etc...what quotes annoyed you the most?.

  for me it was "well, you have to remember, they're worldly"... "don't trust anyone who isn't in the truth" "they may be nice but they are not friends of jehovah"... just a few to name.

  Are you now ashamed of how gullible you were as a JW?

  now that you realise how idiotic some of the jw beliefs are/were, do you feel ashamed of how gullible you were to believe them?.

  if anything my past as an adult jw makes me understand how easily manipulated people are by the people and environment around them.

  and that even intelligent people can be influenced beyond what is rational..

  what happened to these CO,s in the UK back in the 60's?

  he has just finished serving the north west london area.

  Ah Ernie Elliott. When he was a CO he asked each congregation to give him a street map pasted to a board with each publisher, pioneer and servant represented with a different colour pin. Our PO commented that he'd very much enjoy just sticking pins into Ernie Elliott.

  Hi Edmond - or should I say Count?

  D Turner was our DO in the 60's. Charismatic - yes indeed. However, he was quite vain. He once gave a circuit talk in a local cinema. They had those old lime-lites still that they used to shine on the ice-cream girls during the interval. He had those on him for a full hour and sweated so prufusely it was embarrassing.

  Big Mac - He did do a TV interview. I saw it. It was called "The lions den".

  For 30 minutes he was grilled by bishops and clergymen. He absolutely wiped the floor with them. He'd quote Scripture, ask them to look it up with him and then exclaim "What? None of you have brought a Bible with you?"

  There was a DO in the UK who was DF'd back in the 60's or 70's. Name of Turnbull.

  As I recall he'd legged it with a lady. They confessed what they'd done and admitted that they knew they would be DF'd but decided to carry on and eventually hope to be re-instated.

  The JC gave them a minimum of 10 years before any application would be heard. Don't know if that's what happened though.

  Last I heard he was back in and oop North.
